Wycombe: The Opposition View

Following yesterday’s unexpected goal bonanza at Griffin Park which finished in a 3-3 draw between Brentford and Wycombe Wanderers, here are some thoughts on the game from Bees’ manager Andy Scott and a few of their fans.



Speaking to his club’s official website, Scott said he was happy with a share of the spoils after Sam Williams scored an 81st minute equaliser for the Bees.

‘When you score so late you have to be happy with a point,’ said Scott.

‘When you go ahead twice, you want to win the game but we knew they would be dangerous from set pieces.’

‘We were disappointed with the goals we conceded,’ he said, adding that he felt there was a push in the box before John Mousinho scored Wycombe’s second goal.

The Brentford boss felt his side ‘dominated the second half,’ even before Tommy Doherty’s sending off, but admitted: ‘If it had stayed at eleven against eleven, I would have been happy with a point.’

Talking about the large crowd yesterday afternoon, Scott Said: ‘There were more than 9,000 Brentford fans. They saw an entertaining game and I hope they come back.’




The Brentford fans were thrilled with the afternoon’s entertainment and most were happy to acknowledge Wycombe’s part in a great game. Surprisingly, some felt Doherty’s sending off was harsh but all were in agreement about John Akinde’s fine performance for the Chairboys.
