Following Saturday’s late victory over Accrington Stanley, here are the views of some of their fans.

They weren’t very complimentary.

‘Wycombe’s goal is the result of them sitting back and defending for 80 minutes, then relying on breaks for the remaining 10 minutes.’

‘Unlucky lads, Wycombe do my head in, they only know how to rob people. They’re a good defensive unit and just grind their results out.’

‘We were very unlucky today, they are top of league and you always knew they were going to get that bit of luck for that goal! We played well and desvered to win. They didnt really show why they were top of the league as in quality, they hardly had a shot on goal!’

‘Our players found it very difficult to find a way through the Chairboys well-organised Defensive unit !!. Their three goal-line clearances perhaps exemplified why they are now occupying top-spot in League 2. However, the non effectiveness of their ‘stop-start’ forwards, who didn’t really deserve their last-gasp goal, might well prevent them from maintaining this position.’

‘Could not fault the lads for effort and endeavour yesterday. But for a brief lapse in concentration and a little more luck, we could have won that game. that’s the second time I’ve seen Wycombe this term ( previously saw them at Bury ) and I’d have to say if that effort from Wycombe Yesterday warrants a place at the top of the league, then as the saying goes……You’re havin’ a laugh!!!!’

‘Well I think we were very unlucky not to get a point. Wycombe are built around a very good, well organised back line, but going forward they’re not a patch on other ‘leading’ teams. They relied on a long ball game and it was a momentary lapse of concentration by an otherwise excellent Kenny Arthur that allowed them the chance to score. I think that we’ve got the basis of a decent team at the FES this season and hopefully some of that Wycombe luck will rub off on us.’

Redraine wrote:
‘Unlucky Stanley today. We struggled to contain Wycombe in the first half but really had a go in the second, although Kenny kept us in it until late on with 4 stunning saves. They were reduced to breakaways in the second half as we piled on the pressure with only the final ball missing or any convincing attempts on goal. A question of offside about the winner.’

Clayton Red wrote:
‘They did not deserve that. After Shrewsbury on Tuesday I thought we would get a hammering off Wycombe, to say they are top of the league I think Shrewsbury have a better class of player and probably deserve to win the title more then them.’
